Fast Brace

1. In a nutshell what is Fast Brace?

Fast Brace works by moving the root of your tooth into a straight position which subsequently moves the tooth into position also.

Fast Brace halves the treatment time by moving the tooth and root altogether. Treatment can be completed in as little as 3 months.

Fast Brace uses a triangular shaped bracket which increases the flexibility of the wire, and the distance between the braces. This allows for the whole tooth to be moved at a quicker speed.

Fast Brace can be made into both a metal and clear brace, this means Fast Brace can be aesthetically pleasing also.

2. Who is suitable for Fast Brace?

Fast Brace is not limited by age.

The orthodontic problems that Fast Brace is most suited to correct are: crowded teeth, misaligned teeth, spaces between the teeth and problems with bite.

Fast Brace can provide a solution to overbite and underbite.

Patients who require a quicker treatment time are more suited to Fast Brace.

3. What are the benefits of Fast Brace?

The main benefit of Fast Brace is its quick treatment time. Treatment can be completed from as little as 3 months to a year.

Subsequently, quicker treatment means patients are at less risk of acquiring dental problems that come with wearing braces, such as gum disease.

Quicker treatment also means less dental visits and this is especially good for patients who are nervous about visiting the dentist.

Fast Brace has a greater aesthetic appearance and is more comfortable and lighter in the mouth compared to traditional braces.

Fast Brace is fitted with distance between the braces, this enables patients to maintain a higher standard of hygiene when wearing their braces.

Fast Brace is also less expensive than other braces options such as Invisalign.

4. What are the risks or limitations of Fast Brace?

Braces require a substantial amount of the patient’s and dentist’s’ time. The overall success of your treatment will depend upon your cooperation. This involves attending appointments and maintaining oral hygiene.

When having braces your teeth and gums are at more risk of gum disease. At Dental & Skin we will give you advice on how to maintain your oral health whilst wearing your aligners.

At first you may experience some discomfort whilst wearing your braces, it will require dedication and perseverance to get used to your braces for your first week or so.

5. What are the treatment steps?

At Dental & Skin we offer free consultations for braces. In this first appointment we will carry out a dental check up, x-rays, and discuss which brace is best to achieve your desired results.

At your second appointment we will take impressions of your teeth and gums to send to our laboratory to create your braces.

Once your braces have arrived we will invite you back to the clinic to fit your braces. After fitting patients will return to the clinic once a month to tighten their braces.

When your treatment is completed, a retainer will be necessary to ensure that your teeth remain in their perfect position.

6. Will I experience any pain?

Most patients find Fast Brace comfortable and light fitting in their mouth, after they have got used to their braces after a few weeks.

Fast Brace has low frictional forces acting upon the teeth to increase patient comfort.

7. Will I need a retainer after treatment?

Fast Brace moves your whole tooth, including the root. This means that after treatment a patient will need a retainer to maintain the position of their newly straight teeth.
A retainer will need to be worn once a day for 20 minutes.

8. Will my speech be affected?

Most patients find that their speech is not affected by their braces. Whilst you get used to them you may find speaking a little odd with the braces in your mouth however, after a few days this feeling will become normal.

9. Post-Treatment Care

After you have finished your Fast Brace treatment it is important to book for a dental exam to check for any tooth decay or cavities.

At Dental & Skin we will provide you with an oral health care routine to maintain the results of your newly straight teeth.

After treatment most patients will need a retainer to maintain their results. Once you have finished wearing your braces, it is important to book in to have your retainers custom made.

Similarly, to braces it is key that patients wear their retainers for the time period required to maintain their results.

10. Who can carry out treatment?

Braces treatment can only be carried out by a trained practitioner who has completed all training required to carry out treatment.
